Tree service in Cinco Ranch.

Cinco Ranch's signature is the tunneled live oaks lining Cinco Ranch Boulevard and the major interior streets. Most of these trees are 15-25 years old now — old enough that structural pruning matters, young enough that you can still set their architecture for the next 50 years.

Why local matters

Twelve years on the same streets.

Cinco Ranch Residential Association has specific rules about tree removal even on private lots — anything visible from common areas requires architectural review. We've submitted enough applications to know what gets approved, what timing the review committee runs on, and what photo documentation they want.

Common trees in Cinco Ranch

Local knowledge

What Cinco Ranch trees are really up against.

Cinco Ranch is one of Katy's largest master-planned communities, built through the 1990s and 2000s. The neighborhood's tree canopy is mostly builder-planted live oaks, magnolias, and crape myrtles now 15–30 years old — old enough to need structural pruning, dead-wooding, and hazard-reduction work. Cinco Ranch's HOA architectural review applies to tree removal and significant pruning visible from common areas; we submit COI documentation and architectural-review applications directly. The community spans multiple sections (Greenway Village, Cinco Ranch Equestrian Village, etc.) each with slightly different rules. The neighborhood sits on Katy's lighter clay soils — less aggressive than Sugar Land's Fort Bend clay but still wants foundation protection. Major flooding affected parts of Cinco Ranch during Harvey in 2017; trees in flood-affected sections may still show signs of decline. Common species: live oak (overwhelming majority), southern magnolia, crape myrtle, bald cypress, and Eastern red cedar. We've worked Cinco Ranch every week for years and know which sections have the heaviest canopy needs.
