Tree service in Katy.

Katy is two cities — Old Katy with its mature pecans and pre-WWII farmhouses, and master-planned Katy with newer signature live oaks and crape myrtles still in their structural-pruning years. We work both.

Why local matters

Twelve years on the same streets.

Most Katy master-planned communities (Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch, Falcon Landing) have HOA architectural review for tree removal — even on private property. We handle the paperwork, photos, and management-company communication. Old Katy is more straightforward — fewer rules, older trees, more removals.

Local knowledge

What Katy trees are really up against.

Katy spans the border of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties — meaning a single tree job here might trigger different permit requirements depending on which side of the county line the lot falls. The newer master-planned communities (Cinco Ranch, Firethorne, Cross Creek Ranch in nearby Fulshear) built out through the 2000s with builder-grade live oaks, magnolias, and crape myrtles. Those trees are now 10–25 years old, exactly in the structural-prune window. Older central Katy has mature pecan and live oak canopies from the 1960s and 70s that need senior maintenance. The Katy area sits on slightly different soils than core Fort Bend — generally less aggressive expansive behavior than Sugar Land's clay but still wants foundation protection through proper downspout routing. Katy's HOA culture is strong; Cinco Ranch in particular has detailed tree-protection rules in its deed restrictions and we handle the paperwork directly. The Memorial Day 2016 flooding affected parts of Katy along Mason Creek; trees in those flood-affected areas may still show decline. Common species: live oak (dominant in master-plans), pecan (older sections), crape myrtle, southern magnolia, and bald cypress in newer subdivisions.
