Landscaping · Sugar Land & Fort Bend County

Raw lot to finished yard. One crew.

Most landscapers start where the dirt work ends. We don’t. Brazos clears, grades, and drains the ground — then designs, sods, and plants the yard on top of it. The part you can’t see is done by the same crew that moves earth and removes trees across Fort Bend every day.

What we do

Seven ways we finish a yard.

Landscape Design & Installation

We design and install complete front- and back-yard landscapes — planting plans, beds, sod, borders, and the grading underneath — built around plants that actually thrive in Fort Bend's heavy clay soil and full Texas sun. One crew takes your yard from bare dirt to finished, so the grading, drainage, and planting all line up instead of fighting each other.

Starting at $2,500 per projectLearn more

Drainage & Grading

Standing water, soggy spots, and runoff pooling against the foundation are the most common — and most damaging — yard problems in Fort Bend. We regrade low areas, install French drains and surface drains, and route downspouts so water leaves your yard instead of sitting on it or seeping under your slab.

Starting at $1,200 per projectLearn more

Sod & New Lawn Installation

New sod fails when it's thrown over bad dirt. We strip the old lawn, fix the grade so water drains, prep and level the soil, and lay St. Augustine, Zoysia, or Bermuda tight with no gaps — then tell you exactly how to water it through the critical first three weeks.

Starting at $0.85 per sq ft installedLearn more

Tree Planting & Large-Specimen Installation

Planting a tree is the one landscaping job a tree company should obviously own. We select species that thrive in Fort Bend clay, place them where they won't threaten your foundation, slab, or drainage in twenty years, and install everything from 15-gallon shade trees to craned-in large specimens — then care for them as they establish.

Starting at $350 per tree, installedLearn more

Hardscaping — Patios, Walkways & Retaining Walls

Paver patios, stone walkways, fire-pit areas, and retaining walls — the hard structure that makes a yard usable. In Fort Bend's expansive clay, the base is everything: we excavate, install proper road base and drainage, and compact in lifts so your patio doesn't heave and your wall doesn't lean two summers from now.

Starting at $18 per sq ftLearn more

Flower Beds, Mulch & Seasonal Color

Fresh beds, sharp edges, and the right mulch do more for curb appeal than almost anything else in the yard. We build and refresh flower beds, install seasonal color for spring and fall, and lay quality hardwood or cedar mulch that holds moisture through the Texas heat and keeps weeds down.

Starting at $45 per cubic yard, installedLearn more

Landscape Maintenance

A new landscape is an investment — recurring care protects it. We keep beds clean and edged, shrubs and hedges shaped, mulch fresh, and seasonal color rotating, plus the spring and fall cleanups that reset the whole yard. (Looking for recurring grass mowing? That lives on our dedicated Lawn Care service.) One crew that already knows your property and the trees over it.

Common questions

Landscaping questions, answered straight.

Does a tree company really do landscaping?

We're Brazos Land & Tree — the 'Land' half has always meant lot clearing, grading, hauling, and earth-moving. Landscaping is the natural finish to that work. The advantage: we cover the whole value chain most landscapers outsource — clearing, grading, and drainage — plus the tree expertise none of them have. One crew takes a raw or overgrown lot all the way to a finished, planted, draining yard.

How much does landscaping cost in Sugar Land / Fort Bend County?

It depends on scope, but to give real numbers: sod installs run about $0.85–$1.40 per square foot installed; mulch and bed refreshes from ~$45 per yard; French drains and regrading typically $1,200–$5,000; paver patios from ~$18 per square foot; full front-yard design-and-install most often $2,500–$8,000. We give a flat written price after an on-site visit — no vague 'it depends.'

What landscaping services do you offer?

Landscape design & installation, drainage & grading, sod and new-lawn installation, tree planting and large-specimen installation, hardscaping (patios, walkways, retaining walls), flower beds, mulch and seasonal color, and recurring landscape & lawn maintenance. We also clear and grade lots, so we can take new-construction or overgrown property from bare dirt to finished.

Can you do drainage and grading, not just planting?

Yes — it's one of our strongest service lines. Grading and earth-moving is the foundation of our land-clearing work, so French drains, regrading, and foundation-protecting slope corrections are core to us, not an add-on. In flood-prone Fort Bend, getting water away from the house is the most valuable landscaping work there is.

Do you handle HOA and new-construction landscaping?

Yes. We carry the insurance certificates Fort Bend HOAs require and work in Sugar Land, Sienna, Riverstone, Cinco Ranch, Fulshear and the surrounding growth communities. New-construction lots are ideal for us because we can clear, grade, drain, sod, and plant in one coordinated project.
