Tree service in Friendswood.
Friendswood is a mature suburban community built largely around NASA-employee neighborhoods from the 1970s and 80s. Trees planted when the houses were new are now 40-50 years old — substantial canopy, real maintenance demand, and homeowners (often engineers) who want to understand exactly what we're doing and why.
Why local matters
Twelve years on the same streets.
Friendswood's hurricane exposure is real — Ike in 2008 took out hundreds of trees here. We do a lot of pre-storm hazard reduction starting June 1 and recovery work after named storms. Engineers tend to ask great questions; we explain our reasoning rather than just giving the price.

Local knowledge
What Friendswood trees are really up against.
Friendswood straddles the Harris/Galveston county line, with most of the older neighborhoods on the Galveston side and the newer master-plans (West Ranch, Friendswood Lakes) on the Harris side. The city was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey flooding in 2017 — many lots still show post-flood tree decline today, with crown dieback from prolonged root-zone saturation. We routinely treat the longer-term consequences. Friendswood's mature live oak canopy (the 'Friendswood Live Oaks' are part of city character) needs senior maintenance: cabling-and-bracing on the highest-value specimens, careful hazard-reduction pruning, and root-zone restoration on declining trees. The neighborhood's storm-surge proximity from Galveston Bay also means hurricane wind loads are higher than inland Houston areas — we install hidden hangers tighter than the standard 24-inch spacing on gutter work and apply similar conservatism to cabling decisions on at-risk trees. Common species: live oak (dominant), southern magnolia, pecan, water oak, and bald cypress.
