Tree service in Memorial.
Memorial is the inner loop's most heavily wooded residential area — 1960s-1980s ranch homes set back from Memorial Drive on lots that often stretch a half-acre or more. Loblolly pines reaching 90 feet, live oaks with 70-foot crowns, and pecans planted when the houses were built. All of them old enough to need real maintenance.
Why local matters
Twelve years on the same streets.
Memorial's eastern stretch (closer to Memorial Park) has the largest individual trees we see anywhere in Houston. Many homes have 4 to 8 mature trees per lot — annual maintenance plans make more sense here than one-off jobs. We also handle the Memorial Villages (Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Hilshire, Hunters Creek, Piney Point, Spring Valley) — each has its own tree ordinance variations we track.

Local knowledge
What Memorial trees are really up against.
Memorial spans a large area west of downtown Houston, from the older Spring Branch transitional sections to the prestigious Memorial Villages further west. The mature live oak and southern magnolia canopy here is among the most extensive in Houston — 70- to 90-year-old trees that were here when Memorial Drive was laid out. Many properties have significant tree value on their lot, and Memorial homeowners tend to invest in long-term care. The Memorial Villages (Bunker Hill, Piney Point, Hunters Creek, Hedwig, Spring Valley, Hilshire — each an independent city) all have their own tree ordinances, generally stricter than Houston's, requiring permits for tree removal and sometimes city-arborist approval. We handle paperwork directly for each city. The expansive clay across Memorial behaves similarly to Sugar Land's clay, with the same root-flare and foundation-protection concerns. Memorial's larger lot sizes ease rigging and access compared to inner-Loop neighborhoods, but the high property values demand premium care. Common species: live oak (dominant), southern magnolia, pecan, post oak, water oak, Shumard oak, and various ornamental species in landscaped front yards. After Beryl in 2024 we ran continuous crews through Memorial for nearly two weeks — the storm damage to the mature canopy here was substantial.
