Tree service in Kingwood.

Kingwood's "Liveable Forest" branding is literal — most homes here sit under 80 to 100-foot pines, and the neighborhood's identity is built on keeping that canopy intact. Storm seasons (hurricanes, microbursts, ice events) make this picturesque setting maintenance-heavy.

Why local matters

Twelve years on the same streets.

Kingwood Service Association (KSA) covenants regulate any visible tree removal — and the village associations (Mills Branch, Trailwood, Elm Grove, etc.) layer additional rules on top. We track which village an address is in and submit the right paperwork to the right review committee. Saves a week of back-and-forth.

Local knowledge

What Kingwood trees are really up against.

Kingwood markets itself as the 'Livable Forest' and the marketing is accurate — virtually every Kingwood lot has substantial pine canopy directly over the roofline. The neighborhood was built through the 1970s–90s with pine preservation as a deliberate planning choice. Pine-specific maintenance is the default here: managing bark beetle risk, recognizing southern pine beetle infestation early, dead-wooding aggressively because pines hold dead branches longer than oaks, and removing failed pines before they drop on roofs. Hurricane Harvey in 2017 devastated parts of Kingwood with floodwaters; some pines that survived the flooding still show post-event decline today. Hurricane Beryl in 2024 caused major pine failures across Kingwood — we worked continuously here for over two weeks after the storm. The City of Houston annexed Kingwood, so City tree ordinance applies, but the Kingwood Service Association adds additional architectural-review requirements. Common species: loblolly pine (dominant), live oak, southern magnolia, sweetgum, water oak, and Chinese tallow.
